About Hackety.org
Hackety.org is a blog by _why. I try to cover any kind of crossover between culture and code. I’m not so interested in acronyms and technobuzz. I’m more into how hacking weaves into life.
Think of how often ordinary people type http:// into a browser! That’s hacking, friends. It’s an obscure code that has found its way into the mainstream. Can’t you see the tremors of the infectious hacking spirits, breaking their way into everything??
Anyway, along these lines: I try to abide the Hackety Manifesto.
No So Long Ago
So, this blog opened May 3rd, 2007. Before this, I had a blog covering the Ruby language: RedHanded. I really enjoyed that place!
But there are lots of Ruby weblogs now. And no art-code blogs. So, that did it. I still use Ruby and C for everything. But there are so many sensational things in the Smalltalk and Haskell kingdoms. And even in Java!
And what, you ask, is so sensational? Well, follow along.
